Hi, I'm Mel and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to be here in Whakatane with the Applianceplus Whakatane team.

My partner Paul and I have always lived in the Eastern Bay Of plenty and he has strong ties to the Waiotahe/Opotiki area. Paul works in the forestry sector and we both have a passion for motorbikes and hitting the road together on our days off. I have a history in the newspaper industry of more than 20 years working for the Whakatane Beacon and Eastern Bay News, so it was a big change when I ventured into retail!

Prior to joining the Applianceplus team in March 2020 I worked for a large well known retail chain in Whakatane for 10 years and in that time gained a wide range of experience and knowledge. I decided to change because the big corporate company model wore thin for me.

For me, the most enjoyable part of retail is meeting people and doing my best help them find the right product, not just any item, the right one for their wants and needs. I feel extremely lucky to work for a true locally owned, family company, Applianceplus - they really care about their staff, and the communities that they are part of.

Hello, my name is Kristy Jury.

Sunny Bay of Plenty has been my stomping ground for most of my life. I am a proud mother of 2 beautiful children and 2 stepchildren. In my spare time I love to work on our avocado orchard with my partner.

I was born and bred into the appliance industry and have worked for the company for 15 years. My passion is to provide the best advice and customer service to our community. I specialize in heat pump solutions for houses and businesses - from bedroom units to ducted systems and beyond.

Hi Whakatane, my name is Mirella!

I am originally from Brazil and have lived in New Zealand for about 11 years. I recently moved to Whakatane from Timaru in the South Island with my young family to be closer to our Kiwi family.

I love speed skating, playing video games with my kids and fishing with my husband.
