Take the elbow grease out of cleaning your oven with our top oven cleaning tips below!

WIPE UP SPILL IMMEDIATELY

This only takes a few seconds to do. When you spill or splatter some food in the oven, simply wipe it up immediately with some soap, water, and a cloth. If food spills are not wiped up, they will go hard and burn when the oven is heated, making them much tougher to remove.

USE AN OVEN LINER

An easy way to keep your oven clean is to use an oven liner. These mats are designed to catch any food or drips, which can then be easily removed or cleaned.

STEAM CLEAN

As soon as you’ve finished using the oven, put a heat-resistant bowl of water in side and heat at a high temperature for 20 minutes to help loosen dirt and grease. Then when it’s cool enough, simply wipe the interior surfaces with paper towels.

USE ROASTING BAGS

To reduce spills and splatters of oils and fats during cooking pop your meat, fish or veggies into a roasting bag.

SELF-CLEANING OVEN - Yes please!

Prefer to put your feet up and relax while your oven does all the hard work? Then a self-cleaning oven is the answer! Check out the two types below to see which one suits you best.

  • Pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens work by heating up to 400–500°C, which burns off baked-on residue leaving behind only ash which you can simply vacuum or wipe out of the oven.

  • Catalytic self-cleaning ovens contain special catalytic liners inside the oven’s cavity which are fast-absorbing to remove grease and grime from the oven. During the cleaning cycle, the Catalytic oven is heated to around 200 ºC, so it can burn off grease and food deposits then, when cooled you simply wipe up the excess grease with a damp cloth.
